Saving Iceland: Skyr Splashing Understandable

Masked activists splashed a green skyr mixture (an Icelandic dairy product) in the campaign offices of the Social Democrats, the Independence Party and the Progressive Party yesterday.

Environment protection organization Saving Iceland said the actions are “understandable” because these three parties are all responsible for having brought Iceland’s environment and economy to these current dire straits, Morgunbladid reports.

Saving Iceland also stated that splashing skyr is a tradition in the fight for environment protection in Iceland, however, without directly claiming responsibly for yesterday’s actions.

Four masked youngsters splashed the green skyr on the parties’ campaign offices in Hafnarfjördur, Ármúli in Reykjavík and Kópavogur. According to RÚV, they caused some damage and police are looking for them.
