Saving Falcons

A falcon soaked in gasoline was rescued from a beach near Breidalsvik, east Iceland, yesterday. The falcon was cleaned, and held at a local hotel throughout the night.

The falcon is expected to be sent to Reykjavik where employees of the National History museum will rehabilitate it.

Falcons are extremely rare in Iceland, and are protected.
