The Reykjavík Arts Festival has just announced that the San Francisco Ballet, under the direction of Helgi Tómasson, will perform at the festival this spring. There will be four performances in Harpa Concert Hall, on the Eldborg stage, May 28-30.
Founded in 1933, the San Francisco ballet is the oldest ballet company in the US and one of its three largest. Under the three-decade-long direction of Icelander Helgi Tómasson, the company has become internationally recognized as one of the world’s best. It’s known for its broad repertoire, superb dancers and ambitious, standard-setting vision.
