Saga Capital Supports Akureyri Hospital

Investment company Saga Capital recently donated ISK 2 million (USD 32,000, EUR 22,000) to the Hospital in Akureyri (FSA), northeast Iceland, to help finance a new and more technically advanced bone density measuring equipment for the hospital.

The hospital’s old bone density measuring equipment is broken beyond repair and since it broke down, FSA’s patients who were in need of such service, had to be sent to Reykjavík for having their bone density measured, visir.is reports.

A new bone density measuring equipments costs about ISK 10 million (USD 158,000, EUR 110,000) and last fall FSA began raising money to finance the purchase of such a device in cooperation with the Icelandic Osteoporosis Society.
