Russians Rave about Iceland

Russians are the group of tourists happiest with their stay in Iceland, according to the Tourist Pulse, a cooperative project between Gallup, Isavia and the IcelandicTourist Board, which uses information from the emails of those who go through Keflavík International Airport to monitor tourists’ experience in Iceland.

Tourists who spent only one or two nights in the country were less happy with their stay than those who stayed 5-14 nights, RÚV reports. The former gave the experience 81 points out of a hundred, while the latter rated it at 87 points. The average grade given by tourists was 85. That is similar to results obtained earlier this year.

Russians gave the Icelandic experience a generous 90.8 in June and July, while Hungarians, who came in second, rated it at 90, followed by Portuguese tourists, who gave it 87 points. The least happy tourists were the Japanese, who thought the Icelandic experience only deserved 73 points.
