Rolling Stone magazine has labelled Icelandic documentary Amma Lo-Fi (“Grandma Lo-Fi”) one of “The Hottest Rock Films at SXSW” visir.is reports. SXSW is an interactive film and music festival, which is held in Austin, Texas, 9th -17th of March.
The movie was directed by Kristín Kristjánsdóttir and Orri Jónsson and the star of the film is Sigríður Níelsdóttir who started composing experimental electronic music in her eighties. Sigríður released fifty-nine CD’s in seven years, but passed away in 2011 and therefore never got to see the completed movie.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />
The Rolling Stone website reports that the movie honors the memory and creativity of Sigríður.
