Rock Star Supernova: Savings bank Spron supports Magni

By Iceland Review

Reykjavík savings bank Spron has awarded a grant of ISK 500,000 (USD 7,200) to Magni Ásgeirsson and his family, to celebrate Magni’s success in American reality TV show Rock Star Supernova. Spron has further announced that if Magni makes it through to the finals, it will award him another ISK 500,000, and the same amount again if he wins. This is reported by Morgunbladid online.

As reported yesterday, a massive campaign in Iceland to urge Icelanders to vote for Magni after the last Supernova broadcast resulted in Magni’s receiving the greatest number of votes of all the contestants. It has also been reported that Magni receives only a nominal salary for appearing on the show, resulting in a substantial loss of income for his family, comprised of his fiancée and baby son.
