Land Ho! from the U.S. is the opening film at the 2014 Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF), running from September 25 to October 5. It’s a tale of friendship and adventure that chronicles two older men attempting to recapture their youth while on a trip in Iceland.

So far, Land Ho! has reviewed excellent reviews, garnering acclaim for its “feel-good nature” and “quirky comedy,” as stated in a press release from RIFF.

The film is written by Martha Stephens and co-directed with Aaron Katz. Land Ho! originally made its debut at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Sony Pictures Classic shortly after the premier.

The film showcases many beautiful Icelandic landscapes. In recent years, Hollywood has become fond of the Iceland, filming numerous movies in the country, including Noah, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Oblivion and Game of Thrones television show.
