Reykjavík is the fourth most expensive city in the world according to a new list from the Economist Intelligence Unit reports Morgunbladid. 130 cities were surveyed. Tokyo tops the list of the ten most expensive cities, Oslo places second and Osaka third. Reykjavík places fourth followed by Paris, Copenhagen, Zürich, London, Geneva and Helsinki. Teheran places last, preceded by Manila and Yagon.
The biggest upward moves on the list are by four cities in eastern Europe: Warsaw, Prag, Budapest and Bratislava. Morgunbladid reports it is now more expensive to live in these eastern European cities than some cities in the United States for example Miami, Boston, Seattle and Atlanta.
