Reykjavík to Receive LGBT Refugees

The welfare committee of Reykjavík City Council agreed at its meeting on Thursday to work with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in receiving up to seven refugees as part of the project ‘Queer Refugees.’ The Icelandic government approved the project in September.

Preparations are reportedly underway and Iceland is working with UNHCR on the project, ruv.is reports.

Iceland has previously accepted refugees as part of the project ‘Women at Risk.’
