Reykjavík Music Mess’ Tribute to NASA Tonight

Reykjavík Music Mess, a festival that will run in Iceland’s capital from May 25 to 27, is planning a pre-festival gig at downtown venue NASA tonight to bid the venue farewell. Dikta, Tilbury, Cheek Mountain Thief and Morðingjarnir will perform.

Tickets cost ISK 1,000 (USD 7.7, EUR 6.2) and are sold on and at the door; festival passes are also valid for entrance. The concert starts at 9 pm.

A total of 18 bands and musicians will perform in the course of the festival this weekend, including Reykjavík!, Benni Hemm Hemm, Legend, Snorri Helgason, My Bubba & Mi from Denmark, Nile Marr from England and Jarse from Finland.

Foreign journalists, representing publications such as Notion Magazine, The Fly and ArtRocker, will be in attendance. Reykjavík Music Mess is sponsored by Iceland Express, Inspired by Iceland, Kex Hostel and Reyka Vodka.

In other music news, veterans Melchior will celebrate today’s release of their new album Matur fyrir tvo (“Dinner for two”) with an open house party at Kongó in Netagerðin on Nýlendugata 29 in Reykjavík from 6 to 8 pm tonight.
