Icelandic fitness model, Margrét Edda Gnarr, competes in group C in the Bikini class, which is the largest group in the contest with 48 women competing for a place in the top 10 finals. She is among the ten finalists.

“The whole experience has been an adventure,” Miss Gnarr told a reporter from visir.is
“We came to the stage, one by one and posed. I was bursting from excitement backstage and when I came to the stage, the judges smiled at me. After the first comparison, I was asked to take a place in the center place, which is very good. After the comparison, we left the stage and waited to find out if we had made it to the top 15.”
The purpose of the top 15 is to create tension in the audience and among contestants. Five are sent home and 10 make it to the final round.
Margrét Edda was immediately called back and placed center stage, cheered on by the Icelanders in the crowd.
“The Icelanders in the audience called my name, but I was even more surprised to hear the cheers from locals. It was amazing,” she continues.
“It was my goal to make it to the top 10. My next goal is to win a medal,” the mayor’s daughter concluded.
Margrét Edda Gnarr competes again today and we wish her all the best.
