Reykjavík Mayor Apologizes for Depiction of Cyclists in TV Series

Mayor of Reykjavík Jón Gnarr has apologized for his depiction of cyclists in his role as the intolerable Georg Bjarnfreðarson, the micro-managing boss of the gas station featured in the comedy series Næturvaktin (Night Shift).

At the recent Cycling into the Future conference, Jón said that many cyclists had told him that he depicted them in a negative light, ruv.is reports.

In an effort to reverse the negative image of cyclists he has created, the mayor plans to further promote cycling and see if any clips from the series showing his character on a bike be deleted.
