Readings and Q&A sessions with authors will take place at the festival’s main venues of the Nordic House and Idnó; up to 30 Icelandic and foreign authors are participating, ruv.is reports.

Various related events will take place around the city, including photo exhibitions, lectures, a literary walk and dance.

The festival is attended by both professional writers and book enthusiasts; its managing director Stella Soffía Jóhannsdóttir said foreign publishers are also very interested.

Iceland will be the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.

The Reykjavík International Literary Festival will run through September 11.
