Reykjavik International Literary Festival Opens

The biannual Reykjavik International Literary Festival is one of Iceland’s major literary events. This year’s festival takes place on September 6-12 at the Nordic House and a local theater, Idnó.

Many of the world’s most distinguished authors have attended the Reykjavík Literary Festival since its beginnings in 1985, such as Isabel Allende, Jose Saramago, Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut and Fay Weldon.

This year will be no exception, with renowned authors like David Sedaris, Sofi Oksanen, Michael Ondaatje, Jóanes Nielsen, Tariq Ali and Naja Marie Aidt, as well as many of Iceland’s finest.
