Reykjavík City will rent out 800 vegetable plots in the capital area. A total of 600 plots will be offered in the suburbs of Breiðholt, Árbær, Vesturbær, Fossvogur, Laugardalur and Grafarvogur, and 200 larger plots in Skammadalur near Mosfellsbær, a town just north of Reykjavík.

The rent for a 100 sq. meter plot in Skammadalur is ISK 5,600 (USD 44, EUR 33). The plots in Reykjavík are 20 sq. meters and cost ISK 4,200 (USD 33, EUR 24).
The plots will be ready for sowing in May.
