Reykjavík Charities Resume Food Donations

Reykjavík-based charities Maedrastyrksnefnd and Fjölskylduhjálp Íslands will resume food donations today after a seven-week break due to summer vacations. Both charities expect an influx of people.

“We are preparing to receive a large group,” chairwoman of Maedrastyrksnefnd Ragnhildur G. Gudmundsdóttir told Fréttabladid. The charity has prepared portions for 500 families.

Fjölskylduhjálp is also expecting a large group of people and have prepared food for 300 families that will last for at least two days, according to Ásgerdur Jóna Flosadóttir, the charity’s chairwoman.
