Reykjavík Blues Festival Begins

The annual Reykjavík Blues Festival opened on Saturday and runs through April 2. This year’s festival celebrates the 100th birthdays of Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon.

Headliners at this year’s festival include Bob Margolin, who was awarded Blues Guitarist of the Year 2005 and 2008 at the Blues Music Awards in the U.S.; Debbie Davis, Blues Guitarist of the Year 1997 and 2010; Bob Stroger, awarded Best Blues Bassist in 2011 and 2013; KK band; Björgvin Gíslason; Vintage Caravan; Blue Ice Band and other performers

The Hilton Reykjavík Nordica, home to the three main stage concerts, hosts three grand performances tonight, tomorrow and Thursday night.
