Restaurants May Allow Pets

Health regulations may soon be amended to allow dogs, cats, and other pets inside restaurants, Vísir reports. The Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources is requesting review of an amendment draft to the health regulations.

The amendment states that owners or operators of restaurants would be able to allow guests to bring pets inside the premises, subject to certain conditions.

Although the parliament has been dissolved in anticipation of the upcoming election on October 28th, the amendment can still be passed, as it does not require approval by the parliament.

Changes to the amendment may be submitted until October 13th.
