The political party Íbúahreyfingin in Mosfellsbær outside Reykjavík agreed to a resolution last week on establishing a vulva museum in town in the spirit of the capital’s Phallological Museum. However, the resolution was intended as a satire.

“The resolution is very serious. But we made it because of the town council’s idea for a wild animal museum, which we consider ridiculous. So we just had to come up with something even more ridiculous,” explained the party’s secretary, Kristín Pálsdóttir, to Fréttablaðið.
“It is not on our agenda, but it’s a brilliant idea,” commented councilor Jón Jósef Bjarnason on the vulva museum.
The resolution reads: “An unnamed slaughterhouse has already promised to contribute five gimmer vulvas, fully prepared for exhibition.”
Kristín stated it’s part of the satire. “Is one supposed to play by the rules or sometimes try out a little punk?”
The Mosfellsbær Town Council agreed in August to construct a wild animal museum in town. Íbúahreyfingin would like a democratic vote among residents before the matter is taken any further.
