Rescue Services Called out after Prank Call

By Iceland Review

Search and rescue services were sent out to Faxaflói Bay off Reykjavík yesterday after receiving an emergency call that a boat was sinking. Four helicopters, five rescue boats and ten rescue speed boats were sent out to respond to the call. All in all, 190 search and rescue persons as well as the police were involved in the search, visir.is reports.

No one was found and no one has otherwise been reported missing so the police believe the call was a hoax. The case is being investigated.
