Members of the Icelandic coast guard are searching for two more members of the Icelandic cargo ship Jökullfell. Yesterday, four bodies were found, a day after five members of the crew had been rescued in heavy seas by a Danish helicopter.
The Samskip ship had been rented out and an Estonian crew was transporting steel from Lithuania to Reydarfjordur in the East of Iceland. In heavy seas, the steel came loose from its moorings and the shift in weight quickly overturned the ship.
Heavy seas and bad weather stopped rescue operations yesterday at 3:30, but the coast guard continued searching early this morning.
