Mbl.is reports that according to Danish newspaper BT, Icelandic handball player Ólafur Stefánsson is the highest paid handballer in the world. Ólafur, who currently plays for the Danish team AG København, is reportedly paid about DKK 5 million (USD 890,000, EUR 672,000) a year.

BT also reports that next on the best paid list are Nikola Karabatic at Montpellier, Ivano Balic at Croatia Zagreb and Arpad Sterbik at Atlético Madrid.
