Yesterday’s snow measured 33 cm deep according to Iceland Met Office. This is a record for December in Reykjavík. However news on this matter is somewhat flaky. Morgunblaðið reports that this is the snowiest December since 1984. Snowplows will cost the City of Reykjavík ISK 350 million (EUR 2.2 million, USD 3 million) this year, almost twice the projected amount. Even so, hundreds got stuck yesterday all around the capital area.
