Record Amount of Drugs Confiscated in Skagafjördur

By Iceland Review

Police in Saudárkrókur in the north Icelandic region of Skagafjördur confiscated 450 grams of cannabis and 12 grams of amphetamines during a house search last weekend. It is the largest drug find in the region’s criminal history.

The owner of the house where the drugs were found, a woman in her forties, was arrested and confessed during questioning to having planned to sell the substances in north Iceland and use parts of them for herself, Fréttabladid reports.

The woman has been released from custody. Four other individuals were arrested in relation to this case and police say the case is closed.
