Rat Bites Boy in Reykjavík

A rat bit a 15-year-old boy, Kolbeinn Egill Þrastarson, on the finger in the Vesturbær suburb of Reykjavík yesterday. He had been trying to catch what he thought was a mouse and remove it from the building when it attacked him, ruv.is reports.

On closer inspection the rodent turned out to be a rat. Kolbeinn and his friend managed to catch the animal. Pest exterminators were called to the scene and the boy was taken to the health care center where he received an injection for tetanus as well as antibiotics, visir.is reports.
