The Edda Awards,Iceland’s national film prizes, were presented at the Hilton Hotel in Reykjavík.Grímur Hákonarson’s film Rams (Hrútar) raked in eleven trophies, among them for best picture, best director, best leading actor (Sigurður Sigurjónsson), best supporting actor (Theodór Júlíusson), best script, cinematography and editing.
Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir was chosen best leading actress for her role in the TV Series Court (Réttur), and Birna Rún Eiríksdóttir was chosen best supporting actress for her role in the same series.
Baltasar Kormákur’s Trapped (Ófærð) was selected best TV series.
Ævar the Scientist (Ævar vísindamaður) received a trophy for best children’s and lifestyle program, and Kastljós, the news analysis program on RÚV, was selected best TV news and current affairs program.
