A rally will be held outside the French Embassy in Reykjavík at Túngata 22 in downtown Reykjavík at 6 pm today to remember the victims of the terrorist attack at the offices of magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris yesterday.
Iceland’s president, prime minister and foreign minister, as well as Reykjavík’s mayor, have joined international leaders in condemning the attacks.
Icelandic cartoonists Halldór Baldursson, who works for Fréttablaðið, and Lóa Hjálmtýsdóttir, who regularly contributes to the Reykjavík Grapevine, were among cartoonists around the world who have published cartoons in support of Charlie Hebdo and freedom of speech.
Journalists at national broadcaster RÚV have also showed their support via the above picture on Twitter.
