QuizUp Headquarters to Stay in Iceland

The headquarters of Plain Vanilla, the company behind the highly successful app QuizUp, will remain in Iceland, according to the company’s chief financial officer Ýmir Örn Finnbogason.

The company has received USD 22 million (ISK 2.5 billion) in financial backing from foreign investors, including from Chinese company Tencent Holdings, one of the largest internet companies in the world. Ýmir said that although the company may hire some employees abroad, the headquarters would remain in Iceland, ruv.is reports.

The game has around six million users with roughly 100,000 new users being added each day.
