Quentin Tarantino is in Iceland to promote a horror movie “Hostel” produced by himself and directed by Eli Roth. Eli Roth is the director of horror movie “the Cabin” which was centered around a skin disease that Eli caught when he was in Iceland in the early nineties.
Ouentin told Morgunbladid that he had wanted to visit Iceland for over 10 years and that his friend and make up artist for Kill Bill, Heba Thórarinsdóttir, had been encouraging him to go for a long time. He said that his interest had not diminished when Eli told him that Icelandic beauty queens worked at McDonald’s.
Eli and his brother visited Iceland for a few months in the summer of 1990 and worked on two separate farms at the request of their father, a psychoanalyst who had visited Iceland earlier and fallen in love with the country.
News program Spotlight interviewed Quentin and Eli on Friday. To watch the video click here.
