Tomorrow, on Mother’s Day, May 8, Puzzled by Iceland invites you to a family-friendly event at Toppstödin in Ellidaárdalur, Reykjavík, to celebrate the launch of “a beautiful relationship.”
The UNICEF puzzle.
Puzzled by Iceland and UNICEF in Iceland have launched a cooperation that involves donating part of the sales profit of a specially made UNICEF jigsaw puzzle to UNICEF, as stated in a press release.
On this day the sale of the puzzle will kick off and former president of Iceland and the first democratically-elected female president in the world, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, will accept the first puzzle.
The company Puzzled by Iceland was founded in August 2010 and has enjoyed great success in this short time.
The business idea recently came in second in Innovit’s entrepreneurship competition and at the end of April the company received a grant for women entrepreneurs in Iceland to market its trademark, “Puzzled by”, abroad.
The owners and their children.
The owners, Gudrún Heimisdóttir and Thóra Eggertsdóttir, are both mothers of two and therefore decided it would be suitable to launch the UNICEF initiative on Mother’s Day.
“We are very proud of our co-operation with UNICEF in Iceland. The people there are so friendly and we find it a privilege to be working with them,” they said.
The event begins at 3 pm in Toppstödin, a huge brown building in Ellidaárdalur valley.
