At the meeting, the candidates had the chance to express their views on the role and position of the president if the constitutional bill, which is up for an advisory national referendum in October 2012, will be approved, Morgunblaðið reports.
Quite a few people showed up, contributing to lively discussions at the meeting, which was conducted by historian Guðni Th. Jóhannesson.
At Reykjavík City Library, presidential candidates attend civic meetings on Wednesdays between 5:15 and 8:15 pm; the next meeting is on June 6.
