President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson Chosen without Election.

The deadline for possible presidential candidates to submit signatures of recommendation ran out last Friday. This means that president Ragnarsson will serve his fourth term.

President Grímsson was elected in 1996 and has been re-elected twice since then, and once before he has been chosen without election. Morgunbladid reports.
