President of Iceland Sends Condolences to Sri Lanka

President of Iceland Guðni Th.  Jóhannesson sent his condolences yesterday to Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka, and the country’s residents due to the terrorist attacks which took place there on April 21. Over 300 people were killed and hundreds more injured across Sri Lanka in a wave of bombings on Easter Sunday.

In his letter, Guðni wrote that nothing could justify such an atrocity, and that Icelanders’ thoughts were with the victims and their loved ones. The Icelandic President also expressed his hope that religious tolerance would grow and prosper in Sri Lanka in the future.
