President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and his wife Dorrit Moussaieff will go on their first public visit to Mexico, and their first public visit to Latin America, March 11. They will stay for two days.
In recent year relations between Iceland and Mexico have increased and there is growing interest in strengthening business relations and cooperation on university education and science, research and energy, Morgunbladid reports.
Iceland’s Minister of Education Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir will accompany the president and the first lady on their journey along with officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education and the Presidential Office.
A special trade delegation will also join the trip.
