Premiere of Mamma Gógó Moved to January 1

The producers of Fridrik Thór Fridriksson’s new movie, Mamma Gógó, have decided to move the premiere date from December 26 to January 1, 2010. Otherwise it would have premiered the same day as another Icelandic movie and a new play.

“It is a good day for Fridrik Thór, he has premiered on this date before and it has always gone well,” one of the movie’s producers, Gudrún Edda Thórhannesdóttir, told Fréttabladid.

Angels of the Universe premiered on January 1, 2000. The film broke the Icelandic box office record and held that record for seven years until it was dethroned by Baltasar Kormákur’s Jar City.
