Pot Scraper poisoned by dishwashing soap

Pot Scraper, the fifth yule lad, ate leftovers covered in dishwashing soap as he scraped pots in Reykjavík last night and had to undergo a detox treatment.

“I thought I was in for a treat. How was I to know that that green liquid wasn’t edible?” Pot Scraper tells icelandreview.com. “I always scrape pots and eat whatever food is left after handing out Christmas presents,” he adds.

He is currently recovering from the treatment he was given at the National Hospital at his home in Dimmuborgir under the watchful eyes of his mother Grýla.

Pot Scraper is indeed notorious for his pot scraping, but some appreciate his help as he saves them the trouble of washing-up after dinner.

The yule lad used to wait outside turf houses, shivering from the cold outside and taking a few dance steps to keep himself warm – he is always cold and loves dancing.

As soon as dinner was over and children prepared themselves for scraping pots, Pot Scraper knocked on the door. When the children ran to get the door, he snuck around the back and snatched their pots, as described in Jólasveinarnir.
