Population in Iceland Reaches 328,000

Iceland’s population grew by 1,130 individuals, reaching 328,170 in the third quarter of this year. Of the total population, 164,710 individuals are men and 163,460 are women, according to the latest figures from Statistics Iceland, published yesterday.

A total of 23,840 foreign citizens currently live in Iceland.

During the third quarter, 1,200 children were born and 510 people died. Meanwhile, 2,590 people moved to Iceland and 2,170 moved abroad, mostly to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
