By Iceland Review

According to Fréttabladid, the current Prime Minister, Geir H. Haarde of the Progressive Party, placed first in a poll conducted by Fréttabladid which asked voters to identify the politicians they trusted the most. In second place was Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, Member of Parliament and chairman of the Left-Greens. Geir and Steingrímur received 19% and 18% of the votes, twice as many as Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Member of Parliament and chairman of the Social Democrats who came in third with 9%.

The former Prime Minister Halldór Ásgrímsson, chairman of the Progressive Party, received most votes as the “least trusted politician”, followed by the Foreign Minister Valgerdur Sverrisdóttir, also of the Progressives, and Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir.
