Polish women made to work as prostitutes

Police authorities are currently searching for an Icelandic man who has been prostituting two young Polish women for the last three months. This is reported by DV, Fréttabladid and RÚV online.

The young women, who are around 20 years old, claim they came to Iceland after having received a job offer as erotic dancers, but that upon their arrival they were made to work as prostitutes. Their sexual services were advertised online with a telephone number that potential clients could call. The women say that an hour cost ISK 30,000 (USD 429) but that they themselves received ISK 5,000 (USD 71), with their pimp pocketing the remainder.

The women were given all the assistance they needed by police, including airplane tickets to return home.
