The Capital Region Police were notified of gunshots and a man with a rifle who had disappeared into the box factory on Köllunarklettsvegur late last night. The special forces were called out and nearby roads, including Saebraut and Kleppsvegur, were closed.
Shortly after midnight the police officers realized that they had received a false notification, Morgunbladid reports.
Three young men were arrested outside the box factory. They were intoxicated and police expected that they would be released soon.
Regarding the gunshots that had been reported, police said windows of the entrance of the box factory had been broken which may explain the noise.
