Police in Iceland’s Suðurnes region, located in the southwest of the country, report a 67 percent increase in drug-driving cases so far this year, or a rise from 89 to 149 individual cases, mbl.is reports.

Police, however, point out that the numbers don’t tell the whole story as some cases relate to the same drivers being repeatedly stopped by authorities.
A total of 154 cases were reported in 2012.
