Police discovered an amphetamine factory in a garage in East Reykjavík yesterday afternoon. The landlord, a man in his forties, was arrested and taken into custody.
Police worked into the night to remove the chemicals and equipment from the garage. Experts from the University of Iceland and the capital area fire department assisted police with the operation. Police say that although they have no reason to believe that there is a risk of fire or explosion, they aren’t taking any changes, Morgunblaðið reports.
The police drug squad and customs also raided a workshop in Hafnarfjörður around midday today. The workshop lies behind a house used by the motorcycle club Outlaws. According to ruv.is, the man arrested in yesterday’s raid in Reykjavík is linked to the organization.
