Police have been looking for a sex assault suspect since Monday last week, who attacked the same woman twice in seven days.
On Monday morning last week , around 8 am, the man was let into the home of the woman on Móabarð, Hafnarfjörður, after pretending to be an employee of a heating company, there to read the meters, Vísir reports. The woman was alone at home with a baby.
The second attack took place Sunday night around 8 pm.
The suspect is believed to have sexually assaulted the woman, and the assaults are described by police as very serious, RÚV reports. When police arrived at the scene, the attacker had left. According to RÚV, police have little information about his identity.
The suspect is Icelandic, 180 cm tall, pale. During the first attack, he was dressed in dark clothes, with a black hat and black gloves. He is believed to be between 35 and 45 years old.
Police ask anyone who has information about the man or his whereabouts to call 444 1000, or to provide information by email abending@lrh, or by writing a message on the Greater Reykjavík Police’s Facebook page. The woman is currently under police protection.
