Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Reykjavík

The Capital Region Police are looking for men (it has not been revealed how many) who are believed to have visited the home of a man, aged between 60 and 70, who was found dead in his apartment in 101 Reykjavík yesterday evening.

The man had suffered injuries to his head, which may be the result of an attack, although nothing has been confirmed, Morgunbladid reports.

Another man, who found the elderly man and reported his death to the police, was arrested because he was intoxicated and could not be questioned last night. However, police do not believe that he had anything to do with the potentially suspicious death.

According to superintendent Sigurbjörn Vídir Eggertsson an investigation is ongoing. He would not confirm whether the deceased had suffered other injuries than to his head and said it was unclear for how long he had been dead when his death was reported to police.
