The club was originally closed on Thursday in part due to the expiration of its operating permit.

No one has been arrested in connection with the case.

Champagne clubs in Reykjavík have been in the spotlight in recent months. Strawberries, another club in the capital, was closed last month and eight staff members arrested. The owner is still in custody.

The police have reportedly been investigating the clubs for some months now.
