Police charge 330 drivers

Reykjavík police have charged 200 drivers and passengers for not wearing seat belts and 130 drivers for using their mobile phones while driving this October.

According to Morgunbladid, police in southwest Iceland are putting special efforts into reducing accidents and preventing motorists from breaking traffic laws.

In addition to ensuring that drivers wear seatbelts and do not use their mobiles without headsets while driving, police are monitoring traffic lights and watching out for speeding.
