A 30-hectare landfill is planned at the harbor area near Videyjarsund Strait, in Sundahöfn and Kleppsvík harbors in Reykjavík.
Dozens of applications have been sent to the management of Faxaflói Bay Harbors, requesting land for building more than 150,000 m2 of company housing in the harbor area, as reported by Morgunbladid.
At the management’s board meeting yesterday it was decided to speed up the construction process.
The construction at Sundahöfn will affect traffic flow, and Björn Ingi Hrafnsson, chairman of Faxaflói Bay Harbors, told Morgunbladid that it is important that Sundabraut road will be ready before the construction begins.
