The first lineup for Iceland Airwaves 2016 has just been announced. The main attraction at this year will be the English musician PJ Harvey, who is best known as a vocalist and a guitarist, but plays a number of instruments in addition to the guitar.
She will arrive with her new record documenting her artistic journey. The album, Recording in Progress, was recorded at Somerset House, where audiences were able to see her at work with her band and producers in a purpose-built studio.
Also arriving will be American singer Julia Holter, whose latest album, released in 2015, is Have You in My Wilderness.
Among the Icelandic bands participating will be Mammút, Mr. Silla, Reykjavíkurdætur and Axel Flóvent.
