As part of the survey, all parliament-related news stories—broadcast, print and online—from March 1 to April 23 were coded as either positive, negative, neutral or balanced.

Despite receiving less coverage than many of the other parties, the Pirate Party and Rainbow Party had the highest percentage of positive stories, 24 and 27 percent respectively. A total of 21 percent of the 1,500 stories (ten times the number written about the Rainbow Party) written about the Progressive Party were positive.

At the same time, there were 1,900 news stories about the Independence Party, 14 percent which were positive and 11 percent negative, the highest proportion of negative stories among all political parties.

A total of 17 and 14 percent of news items about the Social Democrats and Left-Green Movement were positive. The Progressive Party had the second-highest proportion of negative news stories with 9 percent, followed by the Social Democrats and Left-Greens with around 7 percent.
